SKA V GOLDSMITH Promoter; Selector; Artist; Sonic Terrorist; Broadcasting Hooligan; Anarchist; Philosipher; & Eccentric. BIOG - The slim version As a regular of Gaz's Rockin Blues, since its birth in 1980, to the present day, it was natural that the alter ego SKA-V-GOLDSMITH was born. Despite participating in Glastonbury Festival since 1985, & Notting Hill Carnival since 1989, it wasn't until 2002 that I met Daddy Teacha - exactly 10 years after teaming up with Django Be. (completing the triangle that now forms the core of Stiff-fm). Prior to that friendship being formed, I had promoted the cream of the crop from within the Jamaican music industry. From Prince Buster, The Skatalites, Toots and the Maytals, and getting the Pioneers back together for the 1st time in 18 years, to late great artists like Laurel Aitken, Judge Dread, Ausgustus Pablo & Desmond Decker (mainly in partnership with Django Be). Highlights during this period in Ska was the "Ten Commandments of Ska" at the Brixton Academy in 1997, inspired by my long friendship with the legendary Rico Rodriguez, who i see as an inspiration, not only on a musical level, but even more so, as a wonderful human being. During a period of boredom with promoting I started Flame Fm - a pirate Radio station which set a NEW standard for others to follow. Post 2002 I had a long stint as part of the Mutoid Waste Company building mobile art installation & parade vehicles for Glastonbury Festival & festivals across the UK. Partying on or around them long and hard into the night. During a brief return to promoting in 2008/2009, I added all the Two-Tone artists that count to my CV, as founder of Stiff-Fm. Main musical preferences include:- Ska; Rocksteady; Rythm & Blues; Rock & Roll; Soul; Funk; Roots; Revival and Dub.
